Migration de Yummygums de WooCommerce vers Shopify
Yummygums is a Dutch wellness brand that makes taking vitamins fun in the form of tasty gummies. Launched in 2017 with a single multivitamin, the brand has grown to a range of 16 products, from energy and sleep formulas to vitamins for mothers and kids.
With strong ambitions to expand internationally, Yummygums needed a digital foundation that could keep up with their growth, and their old WooCommerce setup simply couldn’t.

Their original Dutch webshop was built on WooCommerce. Over time, it became slow and heavy, expensive to maintain and dependent on fragile plugins. That made it difficult to scale internationally
Loading speed was a major pain point, and every change required time, budget and technical firefighting. When Yummygums planned their UK launch, they saw the perfect opportunity to rethink everything and build a proof of concept for the future.
The brief was clear: speed, scalability and a setup that wouldn’t break under growth.
Notre approche
We designed a new tech stack based on Shopify + Storyblok + Instant Commerce: a headless architecture that separates content, commerce and frontend performance.
1. Start small, prove it first
Instead of migrating everything at once, we:
- built the UK store first
- validated performance and conversion
- then rolled out the setup to other markets
This kept risk low and learning high.
2. Improve their stack
We went headless for a reason. For backend, we went with Shopify + Storyblok. Shopify handles products, discounts, customers and checkout, while Storyblok manages all content.
This results in rock-solid hosting and security, no plugin chaos like WooCommerce a,d a reliable ecosystem of apps instead of risky extensions.
Compared to WooCommerce, Shopify removes things like self-hosting, security maintenance and plugin conflicts.
For frontend, we went with Instant Commerce. Instant Commerce became the performance engine: it statically generated pages, has 90–95% prebuilt content and only 5–10% dynamic loading, which all resulted in insanely fast page speed
